THIS WEBSITE IS FOR LAY-CATHOLICS. THE COUNTRYWIDE LOCKDOWNS WE HAD DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC MEANT THAT MANY OF US WERE UNABLE TO GO TO MASS.

AS A RESULT, MANY CATHOLICS LOST THE PRACTISE OF DOING SO FOR OVER A YEAR, AND PROBABLY HAVE FORGOTTEN WHY THEY SHOULD GO AND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CATHOLIC.

This website is to help people in this position, and contains the following three things:

1. Easy to read refresher notes relating to Catholicism.

2. A booklet for youngsters explaining the mass.

(Adults could also use it.)

3. Suggestions, challenging Catholics about their knowledge of the Bible.

Throughout the website you’ll find the phrase ‘In God’s favour’. In simple terms, it means that a person’s soul is free from mortal sin. If it is in this state when a person dies, then the soul will live with God in heaven for all eternity. We used to say that this was our soul being in a STATE OF GRACE. Getting our soul ‘in God’s favour’, is something we should all strive for.

These refresher notes on Catholicism are very easy to read, free from theological terms where possible, with many being only one or two page long. They can all be downloaded, printed out and used free of charge.

Should you be asked by youngsters, could you answer in simple terms, questions such as:

Why is the mass so special?
Why should we pray?
Why should we go to confession?
Why do we say AMEN?
